To mark the halfway mark on their adventure with us here at ORA, the students prepared for their Mid-Session party at the Cherwell Boat House – an award-winning restaurant and punt station just outside the historic city centre.
After finishing one final day of lessons for the week, the students joyfully jumped on the bus ready for a night to remember. Upon arrival, students hopped into the punts, eager to show off the skills acquired earlier in the week. The Cherwell Boathouse provides a different stretch of river for the students to explore, with long straight stretches of the river to really build up speed and race their peers.
A BBQ awaited the student’s return to the Boathouse, with a wide variety of meats to chose from, accompanied by many different delectable morsels. Dining in one of Oxford’s most famous restaurants was quite an experience for the students who behaved impeccably, being fantastic representatives for the ORA family.
After a sumptuous feast, the students entered the private ballroom, fitted with a surf simulator. Students tried to top their friend’s times and set new records, all before the highlight of the evening began – the dance floor. As soon as the DJ started spinning, the students began dancing. Popular favourites and reassuring Counselors and Junior Deans ensured every student felt comfortable and happy jiving away late into the evening.
All good things must come to an end; unfortunately, the Mid-Session party was no different. The students hopped back on the bus, still elated from the festivities, singing the whole way back to Yarnton Manor. The students have already been heard talking about next week’s party at Yarnton Manor for another chance to throw down their best moves with their friends.
