The students have successfully completed their first day of lessons here at Oxford Royale Academy. Students are taking great joy in studying in the beautiful Manor, a truly perfect and beautiful environment for learning.
Everyone soon after hopped on the bus into the city centre, to embark on the Oxford city walking tour. Students were guided around by an expert guide, enthralling the students with tales from some of the University of Oxford’s greatest buildings and colleges. A particular highlight for the students included the Radcliffe Camera, part of the Bodleian Library – famous for its copyright status, housing over 13 million books including a copy of every book ever published in the UK. Students also marvelled at Christ Church College, after learning that it was the inspiration for Hogwarts Great Hall in the Harry Potter film series.
After a sumptuous dinner back at Yarnton Manor in the Long Gallery, the students migrated over to the marquee for the ORA Quiz Night led by Alex Gardiner. There was a competitive, yet jovial atmosphere as students teamed up with their new friends ready to answer questions on sport, science, movies and general knowledge. Boys loudly and proudly showed off their sporting knowledge whilst girls chatted about their Hollywood crushes. The surprise ‘Counsellor’ round provided much amusement to the students, guessing such questions as; ‘Which Counsellor only has one kidney?’ and ‘Which Counsellor has been hit by two cars?’ the experience provided a fantastic opportunity for the students to bond with both their peers and the staff. Congratulations must go to ‘RavenClue’ for winning the Session 6 ORA Quiz Night!
