Yesterday was graduation day, which meant soaring spirits, proud parents, and emotional embraces. Students finished up their final classes, tying up any loose ends of their chosen subjects and bidding farewell to the teacher who had guided them and challenged them in their learning over the past two weeks.
The graduation ceremony itself was an inspiring affair, as Programme Director Chris offered a heartfelt and inspiring speech detailing some of the highlights of the session and wishing students well in their future endeavours. All students were presented with a graduation scroll, with some singled out for especial effort and achievement in their chosen courses. Parents looked on proudly, beaming as they witnessed the joy and confidence with which their children went about interacting with staff and amongst themselves.
When the formal proceedings had come to an end, it was time for some revelry―of the medieval variety. Students jousted, feasted and laughed at the House Deans who were literally dressed as fools, as they celebrated the end of a wonderful two weeks on their home turf of the Manor lawns. As the sky darkened, students moved into the morning room for a silent disco, and there they stayed until it was time to go to bed and rest up before an emotional departures day.
