Yesterday the students staying at Queen’s College gathered in the Shulman Theatre for one of the week’s most anticipated events – ORA’s Got Talent. Ron Wilder, Programme Director and adjudicator for the show sat front and centre alongside the two Junior Deans to complete the judging panel. The staff has heard rumours all week of what a variety of talents possessed by the students from Session 5, and the night is finally here!

Daniel Tahoun kicked off the show with a beautifully read poem on emotional isolation, captivating the audience and leaving them hanging off his every word. Gleb Ivanov, the brave participant in the Great Debate took to the stage to display his immense knowledge of all of the world national flags. Gleb had asked a member of staff to prepare a PowerPoint presentation with random flags for him to identify, getting every single answer correct, very impressive. There were also a number of beautiful piano recitals and one student completing a rubrics cube in a matter of minutes. However, it was Emma Anderson who stole the show with her immense photographic memory. Emma memorised 50 random numbers in 60 seconds (she is the current world champion at abstract image memorising) and amazed the audience by reciting all 50 perfectly. Ron proceeded to crown Emma the champion and presented her with an edible prize.
