This weekend’s social excursions left the students refreshed and ready to return to the classroom. Students were still buzzing from yesterday’s ORA intercampus Olympics with some of the students now becoming minor celebrities around the College after their efforts on the track.
The students were taken for an afternoon of Punting along the sun soaked River Thames. They were very enthusiastic to get out of the college due to the fantastic weather, and onto the river. Having gone previously, and knowing just how fun it is, morale was extremely high on the walk there and throughout the whole afternoon.
After a delicious dinner in the main college dining hall, the students excitedly moved on to the highlight of the evening, ORA’s got talent. Three remarkably brave students volunteered to display their pre-prepared routines for the rest of the college. A fantastic street dance performance, followed by a miraculous magician was very well received by the students. But it was Maya that really stole the show with her elaborate lighting display, wowing the audience with a synchronized music and lighting routine, brilliantly executed and exceptionally well-rehearsed.
After a brilliant display of talent, more students found their stage presence in a karaoke competition led by the councellors. Overall, a fantastic evening of performances displayed from a very talented group of students. Tomorrow is the grand ORA Debate, held in the Sheldonian Theatre. Stay tuned for updates!
