Wednesday at Queen’s College was particularly studious, with high levels of academic success! Student’s engagement in the classroom continues to grow rapidly. The level of camaraderie the students are building between one another through living, studying and learning together is something to be admired in such a short space of time.
Completion of afternoon workshops left students free to further explore the city with their friends. A large contingent chose to return to Christ Church Meadows and bathe in the beautiful British summer sun.
Model United Nations debates provided an academic and recreational activity for the evening in which participants assume the role of national ambassadors or representatives to debate and seek to solve global issues. There are few ways of better understanding international affairs and global politics than putting yourself in the shoes of world leaders! The winners of the debate will go on to battle in the main Oxford Royale Academy debate next week in the Sheldonian Theatre against students from other colleges.
After such an academic day, Counsellors led sports activities in the evening, allowing the students to blow off some steam and release their energy after such a full day of learning. The students really felt as though they were experiencing a real taste of daily life at Oxford University.
Stay tuned tomorrow as students venture out Punting on the River Thames, always a student highlight!
