The students staying at St Peter’s College fully immersed themselves into the magical Warner Brother’s Studios: Harry Potter Tour, gaining full access to behind the scenes of one of the most successful film series in history. For the students at the Film Academy, this was a completely invaluable experience to see the inner workings behind the success.
Students got to learn inner secrets, such as the special effects used to create Moaning Myrtle, the flying car and of course all the spells used in the entire film series. Students learnt the more in depth rules and regulations of Quidditch, throwing around a real life ‘Snitch’. Students got the see the real Great Hall, after seeing its base on the Christ Church Hall, when on the walking tour earlier in the week. Students were quizzed on spells, tried to walk through the infamous wall to gain access to Platform 9 ¾ and took a trip down the notorious Diagon Alley. Students marvelled at the fake goblins working in Gringotts bank and absorbed information about how the role of CGI developed through the series.
On return back to reality and back to St Peter’s College, the Counsellors led students in a number of activities to unwind and catch up on any homework for next week. Tomorrow the student’s welcome in the ORACLE speakers, a chance to learn something totally new.
