The students at St Peter’s College had another very busy day yesterday. After their morning lessons, the students were split up into their Insight Masterclass groups.
Animation Nation took place in the JCR, proving to be an exciting stop-motion style animation workshop where students have the opportunity to create a short film using professional equipment. Meanwhile, in the marquee, students made soap with the help of the Soap Science team, educating and surprising students about its production process. Other students took part in a Creative Writing workshop, an exciting opportunity for students to really explore their creative side in a number of writing exercises. Students participating in journalism and debating workshops greatly improved their analytical skills, in addition to building their abilities to effectively form an argument. The most popular Masterclass was undoubtedly Zoolab. Students engaged in an exciting animal handling workshop with a career focus on conservation.
Following a highly productive morning and fun interactive afternoon workshops, the students gathered in the St Peter’s Marquee for the highly prestigious ORA’s Got Talent show. The students were informed of the show right at the beginning of their stay with us, and have since been rehearsing and mastering their talents in hope of winning. There were some notable performances from Irika and Irith who displayed a great routine of Bollywood dancing, and fantastic vocal performances from Ngozika, Luka, Vir and Ricardos. Bob Barnes, the Programme Director and Adjudicator decided the competition was too close to declare a clear winner and instead praised all participants for their bravery to perform on stage.
After the success of last week’s party at St Catherine’s College, the students are incredibly excited for tomorrow evening’s ‘Narnia’ themed graduation party right here at St Peter’s College.
