Steven Spielberg is undoubtedly one of the most influential film personalities in the history of film production. Arguably Hollywood’s most renowned director in addition to being one of the wealthiest filmmakers in the world. With countless big Box Office movies such as; ET, Saving Private Ryan and the Jurassic Park series to name only a few.
Could one of the students studying at St Peter’s College be the next Steven Spielberg? St Peter’s College is home to the ORA Film Academy; where a team of students collaborates together with the help of teacher Bruce Windwood to produce a great film. The film is to be shown at the graduation ceremony on Friday afternoon to all the students and parents.
The production ‘The Key’ is written by our own Bruce Windwood, a six-minute short film, all shot and edited by the students. Students take it in turns to direct, produce, edit and act, ensuring all students gain experience in all the areas of film production. Students also act as technicians throughout, learning the different ways lighting and props can be used to ensure the perfect scene. This experience also familiarises the students with the equipment used in film production alongside teaching students the true nature of how long films can take to produce.
Those attending the graduation ceremony on Friday, we hope you enjoy the production and we look forward to seeing you then!
