The British seaside is something that really defines Great Britain; the unique ability to endure all nature can throw at us on the shore, and still put on a brave face and call it a holiday! Last night was no different; through the torrential rain there were definitely some highlights, memories made and new friends found.
Students staying at St Peter’s and Jowett somewhat reluctantly headed to St Catherine’s College through torrential rain dressed in their smart attire ready for their Mid Session Party. However, once arrived the atmosphere quickly spun, and students began fully embracing the party mindset.
Being greeted with enormous mountains of food on every table, and more mocktails than any could possibly consume definitely helped the students quickly adjust to the swing of the party. As soon as students had had their fill, and mingled and met lots of new people, the DJ began playing all the students current favourite tunes, encouraging people to begin venturing out onto the dance floor amongst beach balls, under palm trees and amongst friends.
Although initially hesitant to begin dancing, by the end the students refused to stop, carrying on even after the DJ finished. Fortunately, the weather had brightened up, making the walk back to St Peter’s College far more manageable. The students continued to dance, sing and shout the whole way back to college, wanting to continue the party.
Students were already discussing how much they are looking forward to next weeks party, which they are hosting at St Peter’s College.
