An action packed day here at St Peter’s College in Oxford! With their first day of lessons already under their belts, confidence blossomed in the classrooms. Levels of interaction between teacher and pupil have increased drastically overnight, seemingly resulting in higher concentration and productivity from all students.
After lessons had been completed, students were given the choice of trips around the city and broken up into smaller groups. One cohort visited the beautiful meadows at Christ Church College, where they were able to relax in the sun and absorb the natural beauty of their surroundings. These students also received the added bonus of seeing and laughing at their friends from another group as they endeavoured to Punt through the meadows along the River Thames. This group had opted for the full tour of Magdalen College, giving students a great mix of culture and fun. The final group opted to broaden their artistic and historical horizons at the 17th century Ashmolean Museum, before seeing the 11th century Oxford Castle and taking a trip up the Mound, gaining a view over the whole city!
After regrouping for dinner back in St Peter’s College, the students then moved onto a real treat. The Birds of Prey team provided screams and laughter all evening as the students got to meet and hold a variety of large birds. The student’s attention was particularly drawn to the large black Raven, after being informed it featured in the hit television series ‘Game of Thrones’ as the immortal ‘three-eyed Raven’.
After a busy day, the sleepy students were ready to get to settle and recharge their batteries for another busy day tomorrow. More updates to follow!
