After all the hard work in the classroom this week, it was only fair we gave the students a break from the books and take them out on an excursion!
This week we travelled to Chessington World of Adventures, otherwise known as the home of ‘Britain’s wildest family adventure’. Chessington park houses 10 different themed lands, more than 40 rides, and a zoo with over 1,000 animals, including lions, tigers and giraffes! On arrival, the students were most excited to first get on the rides, with some of our young dare devils trying the loop-the-loop ‘vampire’ rollercoaster, and for the slightly more tame at heart there were the ‘Tuk Tuk Turmoil’ bumper cars, where great fun was had chasing and bumping into our Counsellors!
The afternoon called for a brisk walk around the zoo, making sure they saw as many animals as possible. The favourites of the day were the penguins, where the students arrived just in time for the afternoon feed and got to see the birds jumping and diving with their prized fish.
Back in Ascot, students gathered for dinner and then shortly after swiftly made their way to bed – after all the exciting antics of the day we had some sleepy students on our hands!
