The students staying at St Mary’s Ascot have had a very busy day in the classroom. The students of Session 5 are excelling highly in all the areas of their Academic Discovery programme, gaining vast amounts of experience in subject choices they may not have considered prior to enrolling at Oxford Royale Academy.
When lessons were completed, the students assembled in the St Mary’s Rose Hall to welcome the Science in Schools team. The crew was here to provide a highly interactive and informative demonstration, leaving the students astounded at the incredible array of wizzes, pops and explosions. The teacher captivated the students and held their attention fantastically by stimulating all their senses with new smells, flashing lights and shockingly loud bangs. The interactive nature of the workshop really engaged the students, ensuring they learnt the maximum amount the short two-hour period. The demonstration was broken up by dinner at half way to give the students a break and ensure they concentrated for all of each hour. After dinner was over, the students were able to volunteer and take part themselves, creating their very own science experiments.
Tomorrow the students look forward to their visit to Chessington World of Adventures, the sun is meant to come out after an unfortunate few days of rain.
