Excursion day! Students staying at St Mary’s Ascot got to venture out of the beautiful country grounds and into the big city. Students hopped on the bus to Shepherd’s Bush in London, the location of Westfield shopping centre and more importantly, Kidzania.
Kidzania is a replication of a real city, including buildings, shops and theatres, in addition to vehicles and pedestrians moving along in the streets. The model city is packed with activities to choose from, such as; bottling Coca-Cola, working in a dentist’s office and even working in a fast food restaurant. Students were able to try their hands at lots of jobs, particularly those they would never have or would get the opportunity to test out.
Kidzania is a truly unique four hour experience that combines the best of both education and entertainment. Not only do students get to try out the various professions, students are able to dress up and live their dream jobs in a fun and safe environment. They also got the chance to explore Westfield, one of Europe’s biggest indoor shopping centres to buy souvenirs and help them remember the brilliant time spent there.
Upon their return to St Mary’s students took part in a Zumba workshop, a chance to show off their moves and get in some practice ahead of the graduation party at the end of the session.
