Yesterday was the excursion that all our students (and staff) have been eagerly awaiting since their arrival in Ascot – the trip to Warner Brothers Studio, to see the making of Harry Potter!
The students had a truly magical time, browsing shop windows along Diagon Alley, taking a seat at the long table inside the Great Hall, riding a broomstick (with the aid of a green screen), and of course we couldn’t leave without stopping by The Three Broomsticks to try a Butterbeer. The special exhibition of Wizarding Wardrobes was a fascinating delight for students, as they competed at putting characters to particular costumes, with a bonus point for identifying the film in which they appeared.
It was quite a feat to convince everyone that it was time to go home, and to get them back on the bus, but once back at St Mary’s they were happy to end the day with dinner and some interactive activities with their Counsellors.
