Session 4 week 2 has unfortunately come to an end for the ORA students staying with us here at St Mary’s Ascot – but oh what a week they have had! This session the students have been truly brilliant, engaging fully with English life and immersing themselves into the experience. No challenge has proved too much, with truly exceptional effort levels across the board.
Parents joined the students in the St Mary’s Rose Theatre where they were greeted by Programme Director, Wendy Missions, who provided a glowing overview and recap of this week’s adventures and achievements. Each student was then invited up on stage to receive their graduation scroll, certifying their completion of the Oxford Royale Academy ‘Academic Discovery’ programme. Students also received their programme review, highlighting the most memorable activities from the past week.
Students then migrated over to the main hall to enrol in Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the evenings ‘Harry Potter’ themed Graduation Ball. A sumptuous sit down three-course meal greeted the students before the students moved on to the main attraction. A magic carpet ride, popcorn machine and most importantly, dance floor. The students loved every minute, beating each other’s times staying on the carpet ride, eating as much popcorn as they could, and dancing late into the evening with their new friends.
It has been our absolute pleasure to have the students at St Mary’s Ascot, and we wish them the very best for the future. We hope to see everyone again next summer!
