Yesterday began with some understandably over excited students, who simply couldn’t wait to get on the bus and get to Chessington World of Adventures. The traffic gods blessed the bus ride down the formidable M25, with an arrival at the theme park earlier than expected, and all the more time to enjoy the rides, animals and games.
It wouldn’t have been a typical British day out without some light showers to deal with, and yesterday was no exception! However, the drizzly weather did not dampen the spirits; everyone made the most out of the opportunity to go on as many rides as possible throughout the day. To avoid the remarkable queues, the students upgraded to fast track, which enabled them to fly around the park hopping on every ride they fancied without having to wait. The bravest students volunteered to go on the ‘Dragon’s Fury’ roller coaster, the only ride in the park to boast the dreaded loop the loop.
To provide a break from all the adrenalin-fuelled activities, the students stopped for lunch and then visited ‘Scorpion Island’, where they screamed and squirmed at many scorpions and snakes before moving over to visit monkeys and meerkats, which proved far more popular amongst the students.
Upon arrival back to St Mary’s, the students took part in the weekly ping pong competition and unleashed their creative natures in an arts and crafts workshop, covering themselves and everything around them in glitter!
Tomorrow the students will be making PomPoms and letting off steam in PE. Stay tuned to find out more.
