Welcome to St Hugh’s College, where the whole ORA team is looking forward to greeting students later today. In the two weeks ahead, students will be gaining New Perspectives —and there is truly no more fitting place in which to do this than St Hugh’s, given the college’s radical history (founded in 1886 to provide an Oxford education to women) and continuing innovative and progressive culture.
Incoming students are about to embark on a unique summer experience at St Hugh’s, learning alongside a diverse group of classmates and under the guidance of a dynamic, passionate team of teachers. And even beyond the classroom, there are opportunities to learn and be inspired, as our friendly and supportive squad of House Deans and Counsellors will lead students in a fantastic array of excursions and social activities.
On the agenda for Session 3: a trip to Blenheim Palace, the monumental 18th-century house and birthplace of Winston Churchill; tours around the historical city of Oxford, taking in such sights as Christ Church College and its dining hall, where they filmed Harry Potter; continuing on a theme, students will be treated to a trip to WB studios for a Harry Potter tour —and they should come prepared to transform themselves into Gryffindors, Dementors, and Aurors at the Wizard School-themed graduation party.
If you want to keep an eye on all the exciting things we’ll be up to at St Hugh’s over the coming weeks, make sure to bookmark this blog —we will be posting all the latest news, highlights, photos and videos here each day. It’s going to be a fantastic couple of weeks, and you really won’t want to miss a thing.
