After a fantastic trip yesterday to see the hit musical ‘School of Rock’ in the West End, it suddenly dawned on the students that the students were reaching the end of their short stay with us here at ORA. Goodenough College quickly became like a second home to the students, many of which are extremely sad to leave it.
Students, parents and staff gathered in the Long Common Room, welcomed by Programme Director, Chris Hovell. Chris firstly thanked the students for the exemplary behaviour, remarkable diligence and their display of maturity well beyond their years. Chris then reiterated that this marks the end of their stay this year, but students are always welcome back next year. He encouraged students to perhaps try a different site at either Oxford or Cambridge for a whole new experience. Students were then individually called upon to receive their graduation scrolls, including their Programme Reviews, highlighting the most memorable times shared here at ORA.
The final evening all together, the students were taken out to the world-renowned Madame Tussauds for a VIP experience. The exclusivity of having the free roam of the venue really appealed to the students as they posed for selfies with wax-work celebrities, got up close and personal with King Kong, and faced off Jedi Knights. Students then had their last supper at Hardy’s restaurant. Students seized the opportunity for many group photos and recounting their highlights altogether.
It really has been a pleasure having the students here at Goodenough College and we wish them every success. We hope to see everyone again next year!
