After a full morning of lessons and afternoon workshops, the teachers here at Goodenough College are extremely happy with the progress the students are making. All students appear to be giving their all and aiming to gain as much out of the experience as possible, particularly the information about the next step and the application processes.
Students got the choice of evening activities; either Zumba at Goodenough to exert some energy after a long day in the classroom, or to go out and visit London’s historic South Bank.
South Bank is one of incredible history, architecture, culture and regeneration. Originally only existing as a marshy expanse of slum housing and country estates, it became a vibrant hub of manufacturing and industry, in addition to being a real heart of 19th-century entertainment venues such as theatres and galleries.
Bombed dreadfully in the war, South Bank has undergone monumental restoration and is now home to some of the greatest homes of national culture and art as well as some of London’s finest architecture, such as the London Eye.
Students got to walk along the River Thames, really gaining a feel of the bustling life of a Londoner. As the sun set, students absorbed the city lights and were able to see a whole new side to the city, particularly Big Ben lit up, towering in the night sky.
Tomorrow, the students will receive Insight Masterclasses from real industry experts. Stay tuned to find out more.
