Thursday at Goodenough College was particularly studious, with high levels of academic success! Students are continuously improving in the classroom and are undoubtedly more prepared in their chosen fields and many are beginning to feel far more comfortable about their future steps.
The Crime Scene Investigation workshop run by Jonathan Brooks from Forensic Outreach was the Insight Masterclass for this afternoon’s activity. The students were fully immersed into a full role play scenario; checking footprints, matching fingerprints, checking blood samples and dressing up in full forensic outfits to examine a crime scene. Students then had to report back to the full group with all the information they had gained, and unite to solve the mystery!
After regrouping for dinner back in Goodenough College, the students then moved onto a real treat. The birds of prey team provided screams and laughter all evening as the students got to meet and hold a variety of large birds. The student’s attention was particularly drawn to the large black Raven, after being informed it featured in the hit television series ‘Game of Thrones’ as the immortal ‘three-eyed Raven’.
After a proactive day of learning in Goodenough, students had the choice of games night or sports. Games night was held at the College, consisting of a variety of board and card games. The more energetic students had the opportunity to blow off some steam as they played games of rounders and football. Students are noticeably excited by the prospect of tomorrow night’s ‘Vintage Circus’ themed mid-session party!
