After initial introductions and ice breakers on arrivals day, students at Goodenough College felt right at home with their classmates and began preparing themselves to be fully immersed in their first day of lessons. Students on the Business and Enterprise course were briefed on the Dragon’s Den style competition that will take place at the end of their two weeks and so put their entrepreneurial hats on to start thinking about what new products they could bring to market and present back to our ORA dragons. Those on the Engineering course were introduced to some of the challenges facing the modern engineer and began exploring the career paths that can follow further study in the field, and our future doctors got stuck in with writing personal statements and preparing their applications for study at their Medical Schools of choice.
The day was rounded off with a friendly(ish) campus quiz, seeing our Counsellor Tom acting as quizmaster and students teaming up to win the coveted chocolates promised to the winner.
Students got the opportunity to venture off on a guided tour of London today, stay tuned to see how they got on tomorrow!
