With the end of the session right around the corner, there was a touch of sadness about at breakfast yesterday morning. This session has been so jam-packed with fun and activities that our students time together has flown by and nobody wants it to end yet! Some summer sunshine was more than enough to brighten everyone’s spirits, though.
As classes are drawing to a close too, there was a much more relaxed feeling to lessons. Lots of students have already handed in their final assignments or performed their presentations so it was a great chance for them to chill out a little and have fun learning about their favourite subject areas.
In the afternoon, MBE Sarah Outen stopped by the college to inspire the students. Sarah’s travelled all over the world, by bike and by boat, becoming the first woman to row solo across the Indian ocean, and she had plenty of wisdom to share with our cohort.
As she told them all about her incredible journey, she encouraged them, too, to push the boundaries of what they thought they could do and to never let fear stand in their way. After Sarah had finished, there were so many enthusiastic questions we couldn’t quite fit all of them in!
Sarah’s message clearly resonated with the students as lots of them chose to set aside stage nerves and perform for their friends in the evening’s talent show. It was a very musical event with most performances including singing or dancing and everyone was blown away by how gifted our students proved to be!
