With another day of clear blue skies on the horizon for our Yarnton Manor students, spirits were high amongst both cohorts yesterday and despite it being mid-week, the students were all as engaged with their lessons as they had been on day one.
Once classes had finished for the day, something very different was on the cards for the afternoon activity with a trip into Oxford to play laser tag. Everyone starts the combat-based game with a handful of lives and the aim of the game is to make sure your team has the most lives at the end of a time limit. The students donned laser-sensitive vests and grabbed their weapons before splitting into teams to plan their attack strategies.
With some expert players on each side, it made for some intense, close-run games and everyone had a great time with their friends, regardless of whether or not they won. It looks like this trip could end up being one of the favourite moments of our students!
For dinner, The Wild Oven food truck returned to campus to the delight of our students. Once again, everyone curled up on the grass with their friends to enjoy delicious homemade pizza with their friends in the late evening sunshine – there were even some toasted marshmallows for desert!
Though the weather didn’t stay quite as bright for the rest of the evening, our students still braved the showers of rain to play ping pong and badminton on the back lawn. Those who preferred to chill-out indoors indulged their creative sides with portrait painting and making their own tie-dye t-shirts, or got cosy with blankets and snacks for a film night.
