After a busy first week of classes, making friends, and getting acquainted with Oxford, Saturday was a welcome chance for our students to relax and chill out. Everyone was a little slower down to breakfast and they took their time chatting over different ways to spend the day.
In the end, most of the cohort decided to spend Saturday morning on homework. A more informal take on the ever popular homework club, the students talked amongst themselves while they worked, always happy to help a friend solve a tricky problem or congratulate each other on some particularly quick thinking.
Those students set to speak at the on-campus debate on Monday took part of the morning to work with the other students arguing their side of the motion. Together, they worked to build a strong case, ensuring they covered every important angle between them and devised answers to the more likely questions from the opposing team.
With their assignments happily out of the way, what better way to spend the rest of the day than in Oxford? The students had been blessed with some beautiful sunshine for the weekend and nobody wanted to waste the good weather. Between shopping at the Westgate centre, eating ice creams in the sunshine, and exploring the best spots in the city, it was a sweet and relaxing afternoon for everyone.
The students finished off the day with a movie night back at LMH. After an afternoon walking around the city, it was a welcome chance for the students to rest their legs and let go of any last stress before heading to bed.
