Now they’ve been on campus for a few days, the students have really settled into their new surroundings and yesterday brought with it a more comfortable and concentrated atmosphere.
The morning was taken up with the students second day of classes. Having covered all the introductory material yesterday, today’s lessons were delving into the heart of the students’ chosen subjects. For our Human Sciences class, this meant getting to grips with some really tricky concepts as they begin to consider what it means to be human. Luckily nobody was daunted by such tackling such a profound question on the second day and it sparked some really fascinating discussion in the classroom.
After such a busy morning, lunch was a welcome chance for the students to rest their brains and souk up some summer sunshine before an academic afternoon of masterclasses.
Our students had a choice between sharpening their story skills in a creative writing masterclass or building their computer expertise in a chaos coding masterclass. It was a great way for our students to follow their own interests and whether they were creating character or computer code, every student enjoyed the chance to learn from an expert in the area.
For some students, the evening had something of studious twist as they attended a talk with one of our counsellors on how to get into law school, making the most of the opportunity to get answers to all their burning questions.
There was plenty of scope for those who were feeling more active to have a fantastic evening too as some small games of football and basketball kicked off on the lawn. One student marked themselves as a strong opponent before the games even started by spinning the basketball on his fingertip! It looks like sports are going to be a very serious event this session!
