The whole campus at St Mary’s school was in high spirits on Thursday, as the sun returned to illuminate Ascot. The students made more excellent progress in their work, and even had time and energy for a fun science challenge later in the day!
The bright weather welcomed in the new day, and the students chatted about the challenges ahead over breakfast. Lessons were observed with the usual diligence and dedication, as the teachers guided each class through another day of studious work. The students were put through their paces in subjects from Game Creation to English.
The programme’s impending conclusion has created a frenzy around the academic work, as everyone aims to make their projects as good as possible before the graduation celebrations on Friday. Despite the rush, all of the students’ work has been excellent so far, and they will be even better placed after a productive Thursday.
After lunch, the students had the chance to take part in a fun experiment where they used lemons to make batteries. Off the back of the previous day’s Scientific excursion, many of them were clearly inspired and therefore the afternoon activity went down very well indeed!
There was also a workshop where the students could create their own toys, and even use battery packs with switches to make them move and turn them on and off! A separate group showed good leadership skills, as they called the shots in the campus tuck shop on a much more relaxed afternoon in Ascot.
