Some classic British weather arrived in Oxford on Wednesday, as the heavens opened and the rain came down. Despite the downpour, our Balliol students remained chipper and navigated their way through another successful day on campus. Apart from their lessons, there was a fun game with the staff, as everyone came together to defy the weather!
The students are in sight of the finish line in their courses, and everyone is kicking on towards the deadlines as the programme nears its end. In English, the students worked on creative storytelling with a view to further improving their English skills. Their teacher was on hand to help them with some prompts, though they hardly needed the assistance as they seem to have mastered the key skills.
Another class looked at the way in which certain substances can impact on health conditions, aiming to reach conclusions about risk and the way in which legislation can make a difference. There were also mock admissions interviews for the Medical School Preparation students, helping them to understand the format that the real thing might take.
After a full timetable of lessons, the students were keen to blow off some steam, and they certainly weren’t going to let the weather stop them from having some fun! This meant that they took on some of the staff in a game of hide and seek around the campus.
The game was hugely enjoyable, as the students found some very innovative hiding places! The staff are all pleased to see that everyone is still having fun towards the business end of the programme, and are sure that it will continue.
