Yesterday was a bit of a wet day at Lady Margaret’s, which didn’t mean the students had any less fun, just that they had fun inside!
As we’re getting towards the end of our session, lessons are beginning to turn towards the presentation of final projects and demonstrations of what our students have learned so far. Our Introduction to Law class really took this to the next level as they held a mock-trial in the classroom! The students have been getting acquainted with the ins and outs of law for almost two weeks and this was their chance to show off all the skills they’ve picked up. Both the defence and the prosecution argued expertly, really impressing the staff with the finesse of their cases. The judge had a really tough job choosing which way to rule!
As showers of rain hung over the rest of the day, the students chose not to let the weather get their spirits down, but instead pulled out indoor activities.
For the artistic, Henna temporary tattoos were a big hit. Not only was it a great opportunity to show their creative flair, but it was also a chance to create a personalised gift for their closest friends. As the afternoon passed, the best artists in the cohort found themselves with quite a few requests for their work!
Other students took inspiration from the Henna gifts and set to work making friendship bracelets. While the Henna would wash off, the bracelets would last beyond the trip home and far into the future, and the students made sure to showcase their friend’s personalities in their creations.
Anyone who was feeling more active either braved the rain for a trip to the Junkyard Golf site in Oxford city centre or settled for an energetic and laughter-filled game of cards.
