The St Mary’s students went on the customary midweek excursion on Wednesday, as they visited the Look Out Discovery Centre. The centre is located in Swinley Forest, not far from Ascot, and offers students a chance to play and learn in an incredible interactive environment!
The students were all excited as they headed off, even despite some typical British weather coming in overnight! They arrived at the centre and were eager to get started as soon as possible. The Look Out is a hands-on science and nature experience, and has over 90 thrilling activities.
The range of options meant that there was something for everyone, and all of the students got straight into some fun challenges. A floor piano struck a chord with one group, whilst some opted to build towers out of giant building blocks and others made a beeline for the hall of mirrors.
The students spent the day experimenting with all kinds of cool scientific principles, including some amazing physics-defying games. There was also a reaction game where the students had to hit different buttons as soon as they lit up. There was even a friendly contest between a few students to see who could react quickest!
All of the students had a very enjoyable day, and it was clear to see as they all happily posed for pictures with each other. There were smiles all round, with the only disappointment being that they couldn’t come back again on Thursday.
