Tuesday was a day of preparation for our Balliol students, as they readied themselves for their presentations this week. As well as this, they explored some interesting elements of their subjects, and went on a brilliant cultural excursion in the evening!
It was a slightly overcast day in Oxford, but the sun did its best to shine through the clouds and the students certainly weren’t affected by the weather, as they were bright as ever. They approached the day’s classes with increased vigour, as the programme’s conclusion hove into view.
For the Business and Enterprise students, this meant an enthusiastic market research session, as they refine and perfect their business plans ahead of the ‘pitches’ which they will give this week. They also received some feedback on the essays which they handed in, all of which was very encouraging.
Meanwhile, in the Economics class the students were examining the concept of supply and demand, using a well known supermarket as a case study. The example really helped to bring the idea to life for the group, and they left the classroom with a good understanding of the topic.
A day of such exemplary work meant that the students had absolutely deserved a reward, and it came in the shape of a trip to London to see a West End show! The students had a lovely meal in the capital city, before seeing their choice of show, with Mamma Mia among the available choices. Overall, it was a terrific Tuesday which was greatly enjoyed by all.
