St Catherine’s saw its cohort dig down into the details of their subjects on Monday, as the end of their academic timetable nears. The projects and presentations which their courses will culminate in are taking shape, and every single lesson provides them with useful information to help them polish their work.
This was certainly the case for the Broadening Horizons students, as they looked at some fascinating things across their various subjects. The Acting Skills class looked at the theoretical elements of the art, whilst those in the Public Speaking and Debate class reinforced the lessons learned at The Great Debate with their own mini discussion about climate change.
This was also a focus for the students who were in the Global Issues class, as they aimed to refine their work ahead of the deadline. Other members of the class were taking a look at the contentious issue of Immigration, and their work was both knowledgeable and sensitive, showing great maturity.
The lessons gave way to a more fun-filled afternoon and evening, as the students took part in a challenging scavenger hunt. The activity took place on the beautiful Catz campus, and everyone was grateful for the chance to spend time in such pleasant surroundings.
There was also a trip into the city centre to visit the amazing crazy golf course! The students putted their way past some wacky obstacles, and enjoyed themselves in the fluorescent setting. The activities put the cherry on top of a very satisfactory start to the week in Oxford, and everyone is ready for more of the same as the week progresses.
