Balliol rejoiced in the chance to get back to sporting ways on Monday, following their success at the ORA Olympics on the weekend. The students followed up a day of classes with a good-natured basketball game, as the feel-good factor from Saturday’s triumph remained into the new week.
The new week of lessons began, with the final projects nearing their completion and everyone keen to polish them as much as possible. This made for a studious atmosphere on campus, and there was some great work done either side of lunch. By the time dinner rolled around, the students were itching to get out and play some basketball.
They took to the court and played out a great game, on a glorious sunny evening in Oxford. The oranges took on the non-bibs, and though there was some serious talent on the orange side, the non-bibs showed terrific team chemistry to make the game competitive.
There was also a great sense of fair play and friendship among the players, as the game was played in the right spirit. After their glorious Saturday at the ORA Olympics, the team spirit was very high and the students all relished the chance to get out and compete again!
A few of the students who weren’t playing opted to come along anyway and make the most of the golden sunshine. They watched on from the sidelines, many of them with laptops out in order to do a little work in between cheering on their friends!
