With a full free day spread out in front of them, our students were slow to get down to breakfast yesterday morning. The lie in seemed to give them plenty of energy though and once they had finished eating they were eager to head off exploring Oxford for the morning.
By now, lots of our students have picked out regular places they like to visit on their trips into Oxford and some headed straight for them. Meanwhile others searched out any tourist spots they hadn’t managed to squeeze in time for yet or headed down to the river for another punting trip. Thankfully nobody ended up in the river this time!
A more focused afternoon was on the cards with all the students returning to the college for an afternoon of homework. With group presentation and final project deadlines coming up next week, our students were eager to get as much work done as possible in the afternoon so they could enjoy a worry-free evening. It was a true team effort as everyone pitched in to help their friends and classmates get through their work before dinner.
The weekend was closed with a chance for the students to show off their non-academic gifts in a talent show. Lots of students performed music-based acts as usual and everyone was blown away by how talented the students staying with us are. It was especially nice to see some of the students bring parts of their own culture into their performances.
There was loud applause for every student brave enough to stand up in front of their peers and the evening ended with a strong sense of contentment and pride accompanying our students to bed.
