Having waved goodbye to several students on Friday, it was time for a day of activities for our group at St Mary’s. As usual, they were all full of energy and despite the excitement of graduation, their enthusiasm was higher than ever.
There was lots of choice for our students on Saturday. Having worked so hard throughout the week, it was important for everyone to enjoy some down time and make the most of the weekend. Now that we head into the final week here, the group are eager to make the most of everything on offer to them.
The morning was relaxed, as our campus staff allowed the students to play and run around the grounds. Following so much running, they all headed for a good lunch together. It’s always lovely to see everyone bonding, and meal times are particularly great as it gives the group a chance to chat and chew together!
After lunch they had the option to watch a classic – Kung Fu Panda. The group settled in with some popcorn to enjoy the movie, and see as the panda went from zero to hero! This was a popular choice and everyone was inspired by the panda to follow their own dreams.
Having enjoyed a bit of relaxation time, there was a chance for more dynamic activities later in the day. Bench ball was a particular highlight and the game was fast paced and competitive. Those not playing this, had the option of table tennis or pom pom making. So there was really something fun for everyone to get their teeth stuck into!
