Another fun day was promised on Wednesday for students at Queen’s, and as midweek approached, it was great to see that the group have really settled in here at the college. The day began as usual, with a good breakfast before the start of morning classes.
In lessons, students are beginning to immerse themselves in their programmes now. As the workload begins to build, everyone is showing determination to face the challenges set by their teachers. Wednesday afternoon saw an opportunity for our students on our Summer Architecture programme to take a trip to Christ Church. This is one of the most architecturally renowned structures in the city, and it was wonderful to see the students’ fascination with the building.
Queen’s students joined with others from St Catherine’s College to take a look inside the fantastic structure, and they were not disappointed, as they discussed the impressive spires. After enjoying their practical excursions, everyone then returned to college for a snack before they set off again to take part in some activities for the rest of the day.
Several of the students used their free time to go bouldering, a sort of rock climbing which was an active way to spend the afternoon. Others chose a debate workshop in preparation for the Great Debate on Sunday, whilst there was a sketching competition for those looking to exercise their creative sensibilities.
Finally, the day was closed with some karaoke and everyone raised their voices for the occasion, which was brilliant to see. As we look ahead to the start of the weekend, it seems that everyone is excited to get stuck into some more great activities.
