The Catz cohort had a wonderful Wednesday, as they made strides in their academic work, as well as a top trip to take in some of the amazing architecture in Oxford. The students were also able to develop some skills which may well help them on the coming weekend.
In the day’s classes, the focus was once again on adding details to the frameworks which have been established already. A Global Issues lesson examined the way in which certain world issues transcend the borders between nations and governments, with the students showing good understanding and awareness in their responses.
There was a workshop which boosted the students’ debating skills, and was laid out in a fashion which mirrors the style of a proper debate. Some lighter topics were used to introduce the concept, including discussing the merits of two different soft drink brands! The session may well prove useful ahead of the weekend’s Great Debate.
The afternoon saw the students temporarily swap colleges, as they visited the stunning Christ Church – an iconic symbol of Oxford’s academic pedigree. They were guided around with a specific focus on the architecture, but also saw some of the spots used for scenes in the Harry Potter movies!
It was certainly an informative day, and another positive step on their journey through the programme. The students got yet another taste of the wonderful Oxford culture, and continued their progress through their courses.
