Even though it was only their second day, yesterday was a very studious day over at St Peter’s. Still filled with the enthusiasm of their courses beginning, the students were down to breakfast in plenty of time and eager for another morning of lessons.
Topics turned more hands-on for some programmes as students began testing out the expertise they’d learned yesterday. For our Film Academy students, this meant the chance to start using some of the excellent, HD video cameras we have to set up some practice shoots. It was a great opportunity to build some camera-operating skills and helped our students get a feel for the different roles they can do when filming.
After a spot of lunch, the students had an afternoon of masterclasses to look forward to. The wonderful entrepreneur, Basia Nasiorowska, visited the students and helped them get their own business hats on in her fantastic masterclass. As she created and grew her own business in fibre optic transceivers from scratch, she was a fantastic resource for our budding businessmen and women!
The evening was filled with yet more academia as some of our students opted to get started on homework and group projects. This is a fantastic sign on only the second night and the staff were very proud of the commitment and self-motivation the students showed.
Before bed, everyone relaxed a little with some lanyard decorating, sports in the uni parks, and foosball and table tennis indoors.
With such a dedicated cohort on our hands, this session looks to be an incredibly successful one and we look forward to another great day tomorrow!
