The St Catherine’s cohort were put through their paces on Monday evening, as the ORA Quiz tested their trivia brains! The students competed in teams, with some sweet treats riding on the outcome, and displayed some impressive knowledge across a variety of subjects.
After spending the day in classes, most of which were aimed at easing the students into their subjects and taking a look forward at the timetable for the rest of the session, some more fun and relaxing activities meant that the students were able to have an enjoyable evening.
There was a terrific tour of the city, which enabled the students to see some of the spectacular sights of Oxford. They will become much more familiar with some of them over the course of the session, particularly those on the Summer Architecture Programme!
In the evening, it was quiz time! The students split into small teams and each came up with names. There was a lot of excitement in the air as they waited to get started, with everyone relishing a little friendly competition. The questions were certainly challenging, covering topics such as history, sport, music and the animal kingdom. Fortunately for anyone who was struggling, the counsellors were on hand to nudge them in the right direction.
After a closely fought contest, Team Circle emerged victorious and claimed some delicious sweets as their prize! Everyone had a great time during the quiz, and it also strengthened the camaraderie which is already evident among the cohort.
