It was a stunning Sunday for St Mary’s, as Ascot welcomed in the new week with a spectacular light show! As well as this, lots of games and delicious food helped the new students settle in immediately, and set everyone up perfectly for the week ahead.
The latest group of arrivals were checked in by our friendly staff throughout the early part of the day, and immediately began socialising with those students who have stayed on from last week. Once everyone had arrived, the real show could begin.
The students filed into a dome, and were treated to a breathtaking display of lights, projections and reflections. They were in awe as fabulous multicoloured shapes manifested themselves on the dome’s surface, and some of them were even moved to get on their feet and show their appreciation with some dancing!
A delightful dinner followed this, and the students tucked in happily – although they made sure to leave plenty of room for the perfect profiteroles that were for dessert! Once they had eaten, an induction talk took place to help everyone feel completely at home on the campus and ready for the week to come.
Some fun icebreaker games got everyone moving and enjoying themselves in the evening, which rounded off the day nicely. Monday will see the start of lessons, and the students will doubtless be keen to have as good a time as they did on Sunday.
