Our Ascot students had a bright start to their weekend with a Saturday full of activities! With some students leaving us, it seemed like a spot of art was the perfect way to get everyone’s minds off departures!
First the students picked up some paintbrushes and put their imaginations in paper with some mural painting. Seeing everyone crowded around pieces of cardboard to add their own artistic touch or style was really encouraging! Our other students grabbed some rubber bands, some bottles of coloured dye, and plain t-shirts for a tie dyeing workshop. It was a wonderful way to create a personalised souvenir of the students’ time here at Ascot – we’ll have to keep an eye out for any students wearing their creations later on!
The arty afternoon ended with all the students putting their handprint on a big sheet of cardboard and signing their names underneath. It did create a bit of a mess, but that only added to the fun!
For the rest of the afternoon, it was time for sports! Between tag rugby, swimming, and tennis, there was something for every student to get stuck into. After spending the morning creating art together, everyone was in a very energetic mood so it didn’t take long before the students were falling into teams and playing friendly competitive games!
Win or lose, it was a great Saturday for all of the students and everyone had giant smiles on their faces as they sat down for dinner. We look forward to more days as full of fun as this as the week goes on!
