Friday saw our second graduation of the summer and all of our students were incredibly excited to get going this morning, as they looked forward to a fun-filled final day. Having had a few greyer days, the weather seemed to be cheering up as the sun smiled through the clouds in the morning.
After breakfast, students went to their morning classes as usual for their final lessons and tests. The Human Biology class had a particularly fun way of handing in their assessments – while one assessment is written, the other involves role play! One student is a doctor and the other is a patient and they have to use the terminology they’ve learned over the session to describe what’s wrong with them. It’s a wonderful way to create a more interactive test and our students loved performing for their peers!
As the classes came to an end, the whole group were sad to say their goodbyes to their teachers who have imparted so much knowledge and inspiration over the past two weeks.
Once classes were over, it was time to prepare for a party and St Peter’s did it in style. The cohort got into their best outfits for the formal occasion, and it was a good time for everyone to have their photos taken as friends before the evening started.
The group then headed for the Chapel for the rest of the afternoon. They all received their scrolls with huge smiles, as they were honoured for all of their hard work. Several of our students were also awarded with special prizes in specific subject areas for their excellent performance and effort.
Then it was time for a party! The group were escorted by our counsellors to St Catherine’s where students from our colleges across Oxford joined together to celebrate their successes. What an excellent way to round off the session, we hope everyone’s feet aren’t too sore.
