Friday was one for the books for the students at Queen’s college, with the prospect of Graduation in the air, everyone was excited for the final day of their programmes.
The day began with lessons, however, teachers chose to treat the students to a morning of fun classes. Given that everyone had handed in their final projects, most of our students enjoyed a fun and interactive morning. Shortly, the day’s classes were finished and although our students were happy to have completed their programmes, they waved goodbye to their teachers with an air of sadness. Over the last two weeks, our academics have really inspired everyone to see things from new perspectives and all of our students were incredibly thankful to them for sharing their expertise along the way.
After a heartfelt goodbye to the teachers, students went to get changed into formal clothes for their ceremony which was to be held in the beautiful chapel at Queen’s. The ceremony was traditional and it was a great opportunity to celebrate the successes of this talented cohort. Special awards were presented for effort and achievement in each subject and then it was time for the festivities.
Everyone took photos on the lawn, before they were invited in for a fancy meal. The group ate together for the final time, taking moments between mouthfuls to give out their phone numbers and addresses so that they could keep in touch with their new friends.
Finally, the group got ready for their party at the Town Hall. Everyone had made an effort for the occasion and the session was danced away in Oxford city centre with the other students from members of Balliol, Jowett and St Catherine’s.
