The students were alive with activity and excitement from the moment they opened their eyes this morning. Graduation day had finally dawned and everyone was determined to enjoy it to the fullest. Breakfast was filled with excited conversation about the afternoon’s ceremony and the students entered their last classes of the session buzzing with excitement.
To round off the last session, lots of classes were focusing on topics that the students had requested or testing out the projects they’ve been working on over the session. As their time with their teachers drew to a close, the students made sure to thank them for all their wonderful help and guidance over the last two weeks.
With classes finally over, all that was left was to have some lunch and then the students could start getting ready for their graduation. There was a flurry of movement upstairs as the students put on their best clothes and made sure their hair looked perfect. Once everyone was dressed to the nines, it was at last time for the much-awaited ceremony to begin.
The students took their seats for a short but sincere speech from the programme director about how wonderful the session has been for all the staff. Afterwards the students stepped up one by one to collect their scrolls, mimicking the style of a real university graduation. A few special awards were handed out too for those students who’d really gone above and beyond over the session.
The evening dinner was suitably fancy to match the grand occasion and then our students made their way to Oxford’s town hall for a celebration with the students from Balliol, St. Catz, and Queens. As our students have made quite a few friends in the other cohorts over the last two weeks, it was a great opportunity to finish the session surrounded by all their friends and a perfect end to the day.
