With the last full day of lessons dawning yesterday at Jowett, our students were full of exhilaration. They were finally nearing the end of their studies, which meant they could at last see their projects taking shape! For our Business and Enterprise students, it was a particularly busy day. As part of their course, the students have worked in groups to research, design, and market their own business idea and every student was keen to make their idea shine as much as possible before they were judged tomorrow. With so many fantastic ideas flying around, it looks like picking a winner will be a very difficult job!
The afternoon was dedicated to thinking about the future as the students attended a University Fair. Representatives from all the top UK and EU universities were there to give our students an insight into life at university and what the differences might be between the same course in higher education.
The fair really struck the right note with our forward-thinking cohort – so much so that the students actually had more questions than there was time to answer! The counsellors and staff organised another university Q and A session in the evening to make sure everyone got all the information they wanted.
Brimming with knowledge, the students spent the remainder of the evening on more active pursuits. After winning against St Catz in a football tournament earlier in the week, the Catz cohort wanted a re-match to try and even the score! Our students were more than up for the challenge, and a very close-run 7-a-side football tournament kicked off in the university parks with plenty of cheering supporters. Unfortunately, our cohort was pipped to the post this time – though there was some suggestion that Catz may have counted the scores wrong!
With so much excitement, our students were a little exhausted and very happy to fall into bed by the time curfew came!
