Proceedings were rounding up for the students on our 19 + programmes on Thursday, and as everyone prepared for their final full day of lessons in Oxford, the concentration was clear in college in the morning.
Students gave their final presentations on Thursday, and for those studying on our Public Speaking for the Modern World and Workplace programme, this was the day they had been looking forward to from the very outset of their stay in Oxford. Having put so much work into their speeches, they were excited and a little nervous to present for the last time. Teachers, however, were incredibly impressed by their development over the last two weeks and it is fantastic to see how much their confidence has grown.
Elsewhere, the other classes were rounding up too and despite students being excited to complete their studies, there was also an element of sadness to the day, as students and staff alike were aware that this was the end of the programme.
Our students at both Univ and Merton have shown unparalleled maturity in everything they have done here. They have fully immersed themselves in their studies, life in Oxford – and clearly, they have made friends for life. Classes have been a sociable and open space for students to have a platform to give their opinions, and everyone will return home with a wealth of new knowledge in tow.
Once lessons were over, the group relaxed together and our campus team took some time to have their photos taken! Sensibly, the group headed swiftly to bed after their dinner, as they look forward to a busy and fun day on Friday for their graduations.
