With the final day before graduation came a definite thrill of excitement amongst our students. This eagerness translated wonderfully into the students putting more effort than ever into their work yesterday morning.
One particularly happy classroom yesterday was our Photography and Sketching class from the New Perspectives programme. Over the last two weeks, students have been working on developing an artist’s eye and helping each other improve by critiquing each others’ work. Now they’re reaching the end of the programme, the students are looking back on their sketches from the first day and marveling at how much they’ve improved. Working artistically in the beautiful city of Oxford has really inspired our students and all our staff are very proud of the progress they’ve made.
In the afternoon, the students had the chance to let out some of their enthusiasm for graduation with a run through of the ceremony. It did wonders to calm the nerves of any worried students, too! By the time all our students had practiced collecting their scrolls, they were all more than ready for the real thing!
To get rid of any extra energy the students still had, there were sports in the evening. Football, as always, was a popular choice and one of our students, Abdullah set up an almost unstoppable partnership with one of the counsellors, Stefan. Another two of our students, Antoine and Alexander, showed impressive skill as they took on the duo!
For any students who didn’t fancy football, there was a pampering session and a movie night to get them relaxed and ready for bed.
