Students had a busy day yesterday at Balliol! The final day before graduation had come at last and lessons were filled with the excitement of projects nearly being completed.
In our Film Academy class, students were completing the final round of edits on their short films and polishing up their shots before the grand showing of the films at graduation tomorrow! It was great to see all our students crowded around the computers together, making sure everyone’s voice was listened to throughout the editing process.
In the Engineering Preparation class, students are similarly close to the finishing line with their work. Throughout the session, the class has been building towards making their own robots which can be controlled from an app on their phone and the fruits of their labour are really showing now! The students were all suitably proud as they began getting the hang of controlling their robots in preparation for a race tomorrow morning!
In the afternoon, our students headed over to St Catz for a university fair. Representatives of Universities from all over the country had converged on Catz, prospectuses in hand, to give our students information on what life was like at their university. It was a great way for our students to learn about how different courses with the same name can be at university level and it gave them a chance to get a feel for which university they might prefer! The higher education world really is their oyster and fairs like these will be invaluable in helping them make the best choice for their future.
With so much to think about, the students were keen to spend the evening relaxing or playing sports before they headed to bed.
