Wednesday means excursions for St Mary’s, and our young students enjoyed their latest trip as they visited London Zoo! They saw an incredible collection of creatures in the capital, and had a brilliant day.
Everyone was very excited as they set off in the morning. London Zoo is home to more than 600 species, and the students were all chattering away about which animals they were most looking forward to seeing.
They party soon arrived at the zoo, and the students were soon seeing their first few creatures. The staff were surprised to find that the goats were a big hit, as well as the spiders!
As the day wore on, the students saw a magical menagerie made up of animals from all over the world. The lions, tigers and monkeys were the highlights, as were the snakes in the reptile house – which has featured in a Harry Potter film!
As the day came to an end, there was a chance to pick up some cuddly toys and the students took every chance to enjoy the day. Overall, the trip was a tremendous success – so much so that there were a lot of requests to go back again on Thursday!
