Wednesday was a day of law and order for some of our St Catherine’s students, as they took part in a mock trial. There was also more punting and other fun activities as everyone on campus makes the most of their last few days in Oxford.
The rain of Tuesday had cleared, and breakfast was as lively as usual when the students emerged. Proceedings then got underway, with the Law School Preparation course undertaking a mock trial which accurately simulated the real thing!
The students took on various roles, as they aimed to reach a judicial outcome for a fictional crime. The roles of the victim, the accused, the prosecution, the defence and the judge were all taken, and performed admirably as the students demonstrated their impressive understanding of the law.
Some afternoon free time saw many of the students opt to reaffirm their love affair with punting, as they once again idled along the river. They have become quite proficient at steering the boats by now – after all, they’ve had plenty of practice!
A foosball tournament also took place, as the contest to be crowned campus champion nears its end. Despite the nearing deadlines, the students have managed their time and workloads impressively, and they are enjoying the benefits as they are able to enjoy every last second of the programme.
